About Beginning Experience
Beginning Experience is a weekend programme to help grieving separated, divorced and widowed persons move from the darkness of their grief into the light of a new beginning and progress into the future with renewed hope. The loss of a loved one through separation, divorce or death is one of life’s most traumatic experiences. It can result in almost unbearable feelings of loneliness and grief. The Beginning Experience Weekend helps deal with the natural grief process and offers an opportunity for turning the pain of loss into an experience of positive growth. Beginning Experience is a lay ministry which, although rooted in the Catholic tradition, is open to people of all faiths or none. Belfast Beginning Experience Support Group meets weekly in St Bride’s Hall, Derryvolgie Ave., Belfast at 8pm on Wednesday evenings. The Residential Weekend is held twice per year, usually spring and late autumn, in Drumalis Retreat Centre in Larne.
The work of Beginning Experience is supported by the Family Ministry Office of Down and Connor and celebrates 25 years of providing support to grieving adults.
